The original EVINS label was created by Reed's father Lee and uncle David.
David became one of the favorite shoe designers of Hollywood stars,
creating shoes for Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, Ava Gardner,
Judy Garland, and Rita Heyworth.He was awarded a Coty in 1949,
and nicknamed the "King of Pumps". He made Grace Kelly's wedding
shoes for her marriage to Prince Rainier, as well as shoes for every
First Lady from Mamie Eisenhower to Barbara Bush.

EVINS was the only company ever to be awarded the prestigious
license to manufacture Hermes footwear. The Delman collection
was also their creation. Clients included many of fashion’s
greatest designers, such as Geoffrey Beene, Halston, Calvin Klein
and Ralph Lauren.
